A magnificent expression of the no less magnificent Silvaner...
Vinification: Silvaner has a high pectin content, so it had a good soak for an average of three days (depending on the pick) before pressing, in order to soften the skins and get the best out of the pressing process.
Aging: In used 500L barrels for 11 months + five months in the bottle before release
Bottled: 25th of August 2023
Soil type: We have many plots of Silvaner mixed in here. Some are in the flat vineyards planted in gipskeuper, some are on the hillside where the soil has a higher proportion of schilfsandstein.
Age of vines: The vines were planted between 1996 and 2003.
